Maldives has already raised more than 7 million Ruffiya in the televised fundraisers in less than 37 hours for quake and disaster hit Japan.
A total of 5319162.69 Maldivian Ruffiya and 119,507 fish cans were donated in the fundraising telethon, which was broadcasted to express solidarity with the Japanese people after an Earthquake and Tsunami devastated the country last week, held from Friday at 10.15am to yesterday 00.00 hrs. This is a record amount collected from a Telethon. During his weekly address, President Nasheed appealed to the people of Maldives to participate in the telethon to show solidarity to the grief stricken Japanese. He stated that though Maldives is a small-island state, Maldivians should be standing with the Japanese in this tragedy that has struck their country.
Also many of our Starwood properties globally are helping Japan to recover from the devastating earthquake and tsunami through local programming and fund raising efforts. The recovery process is still ongoing and every contribution helps. A Starwood Relief Fund has been set up to help those impacted by this tragedy and it is at times like this that it is important that we come together as a family to help our colleagues in need and their communities.
Club H.I.D - general policies of W Clubs
To formalize our general policies of clubs we have prepared and finalized a policy called Club HID. This will help all clubs to understand basic rules. Club H.I.D says all clubs must run under w-inner committee to regulate and organize more efficiently. This policy basically covers how a club can be formed and how members can join and transfer from one club to another and other basic rules. This is the official club HID which also states there will be 4 clubs. W-inner can always add/delete points to this policy in any situation where we need to amend . Both are sending their warmest regards to everyone. Alan says he especially misses his Welcome Team and Rose, while Santi says she misses Nadhy and Boose the most. Hmmm……

Happenings of 2011
After a superb year of 2010 we are in 2011 March and its time to plan all our happenings for the year. W-Inner held its first meeting of 2011 on 8th March brainstorming ideas to create our calender of events for the year including sports, happening events, parties etc. It was decided we will continue with major events same as last year like Wonder League Soccer, Let's Wolly League, Cricket League, Casino games. Also we have other plans such as to host a special W Olympics among many clubs or departments. Other than sports we would like to include parties, social activities, community events.Next meeting will be on 12th March and we invite all clubs, Talents to send your wonderful ideas if you would like to add to our happening calender of events for 2011. Meet your clubs w-inner representative or emails us your idea or even tell us when you next meet any of w-inner member around Escape area.
On a special note: Last week, our Managing Director Marcus hosted a lunch to meet w-inner team and club presidents. We shared how w-inner was born and how clubs were formed as well as many other activities we have been doing during the past 4 years and how we won RVP award last year. MD shared lot of great ideas and supported us to continue making our resort a real W lifestyle retreat with lot of happenings and social activities that will be fully supported.
